Weekly update 1.251/25/2010 What’s going on party people! We hope every had a chance to get out and experience that gnarly pow pow! It was great and our local mountains are still stacked with great snow, so we all should be getting out there and tearing it up! Already midterms are here, but this is what we got going on this week. Tuesday 1/26 Depending on the weather, if its not raining, we will be out in the quad set up with our booth giving stuff out and hanging out in general. So stop by at U-hour in front of Carl’s Jr. if weather permits. New to our agenda will be The Ridge Runners weekly hangout. Every Tuesday for the rest of the quarter we will hanging out at a designated location. This week we will be hanging out at Cantina! Taco Tuesday s! So come by and say what up, we will be there from 7:30 till whenever. If u don’t know where Cantina is, well its off of Temple and Pomona Blvd in the same lot at Carl’s Jr. and JoJo’s pizza. Everyone and anyone are welcomed! Thursday 1/28 Club meeting Building 9 room 269. Pizza for our members, so come hangout and Shoot the shit, arrange car pools for this weekend, take care of any financial situations, and watch a movie! Also for any members who want to get some 686 gear though the club’s proform, let us know. This years big trip is Lake Tahoe! So we will be giving you more details about that too! Thurday Night if enough people wanna go, we can meet at school around 4:30Pm and car pool up to Mt. High. so let us know and post on the fan page! Also your money for Your jackets is due Thursday! This year’s club hoodies with zippers which cost 20$ from you, so if you want one lets us know your desired size. They are Mens sized and will be a teal-blue material with orange print. Alright so we know you guys are wondering whats going on this year for spring break. This year it is going down like James Brown, in Lake Tahoe! We will be Riding the fabulous resort of Kirkwood (click here) Which is one of the most legit mountains in the tahoe area! This place its gets Shat on all year long by the snow Gods! Kirkwood Receives and average snowfall of 600 inches per year! That’s more than Whistler. This place gets so much snow it has forced us to come back for our 3rd Spring Break in a row. This mountain is taller that Eddie The Yeti, standing at 9,800 feet! Last year we were rock droppin and Cornice jumping in the powder. Check out the Poly Shred Video if you don’t believe me! They have 72 runs and two jib-tastcular parks. Runs like the infamous, “The Wall,” who’s name pretty much says it all! Kirkwood is be far not a popular mountain due it being harder to get to, ask your treasurer James, he wasn’t stoke at all on the trip because he had never heard of it before, it definitely change his life as he rag-dolled off a cornice, dug himself out of the powder and got up laughing! Kirkwood has not been finalized but generally dates will be March 21-25, 3 days of riding and 4 Crazzzy Nights! This Price will be around $250 small ones. This will Include your Lodging, lift tickets,and some beverages. (possibly more!) So get pumped up and start saving your dough! P.S. We are looking for a new party house that can hold some ragers, if you are down contact us and lets us know The Situation! We Enticing offers for those willing to step up! El Nino Week 1/191/20/2010 What up Powder Plowers! This week’s weather is finally starting to look like this SOB “el Niño” that everyone has been talking about! It is straight up dumping, puking, shitting, ducing, snowing, and whatever other word that can describe these storms! So we are keeping this weeks festivities low key allowing for you guys to get as much riding in is as possible! Thursday 1/21 instead of a meeting we will be setting up t the Bronco Student Center in USRA Minor (Above Round Table Pizza) there is a club fair going on during U hour starting at noon with the Education Interest Council (EIC) and we would like all of you to stop by. Stop by and say what up, we will be hooking up with cool stuff as always. Thursday night (1/21), Winter Quarter’s Broom Ball! Broom Ball is always Fun and this quarter will not let you down! This Event is free for everyone and we welcome new comers to come check the club out. Ice, Brooms, a ball, and competition are a guaranteed combination that will be so fun, MAKE YOU WANNA SLAP YOUR MAMMA! We will be giving out prizes for First goal, Most goals, best fall, and anything else we Deem worthy! Update for the week of 1/11/091/13/2010 What’s cracka-lackin-booty-smackin! Winter Quarter is looking to be epic! It was great to see all the new faces out at our booth in the quad on Tuesday, we hope you all got some free swag and are as stoke about this quarter as we are! First and foremost we have a MEETING THURSDAY BUILDING 9 ROOM 269(1/14) at Noon (U-hour)! You definitely don’t wanna miss this one! As always pizza will be provided. We are also taking orders for this year’s club hoodies which cost 20$ from you, so if you want one lets us know your desired size. Also For who ever Brings in a CD with 50 Pictures or more from our outrageously shredtacular trip to Whistler, Canada will receive and DVD of Mammoth Hot Laps. Also for new members come hang out and see what the coolest club on campus is all about! We will be sharing stories, pictures, and videos of our winter break extravaganzas! Also we will be giving the low down on what’s going throughout this quarter. Letting you know about our spring break trip and other smaller trips to Big Bear, Tahoe, & Mammoth. Also we have some new sponsors this quarter including Academy Snowboards! We have fundraisers underway which we will tie together with movie nights for example, Buffalo Wild Wings is giving us 20% of our bill back to the club and our own section where we can watch some of this sickest snow films of this year! But we can tell you all this with out mentioning our legitimate party package we have going on this quarter! We are in the works for developing club riding days where we can all car pool and ride together during the week. Also you are gunna wanna make this year’s club video which we have scheduled filming days, now you can immortalize your self on this silver screen. Hey what is up everybody?? Hope you all had an awesome Christmas Break, I know me and the other 72 big trippers sure did! Haha, here's a random pic of the ABC party just to show you that when it comes to parties, we means business! This past quarter and the ensuing Big Trip to Whistler was the biggest and best in recent memory! Our membership ranks have doubled in size and swelled to over 75 members! With 73 participants on our Big Trip I think it's safe to say that we've a fairly active and involved body of students! We are working hard to serve you guys up with not only sweet events and get-togethers, but we might actually get some snowboarding done! Winter is finally here and with an early start to this season the local slopes are looking better than ever! We are bringing our members designated club riding days, more events (don't worry we'll still have broomball), more parties (Ridgerunners Olympics anyone?), and even some philanthropic support for our favorite charity, Boarding for Breast Cancer (www.b4bc.org). This Quarter ensures to be A great one! Not only do we have loads of parties but were gunna have movie premiers, dinner nights, fund-raisers, pretty much anything fun! Winter is our season to shine and members will not be with out something to do each and every week. We are putting together smaller, most cost efficient trips to go on through out the year such as weekend trips to mammoth, June, or bear For those who missed out on our Big Trip, dont worry we have more trips planned to help everyone be a part of the club! Look forward to our Spring Break Trip coming at the end of March. The location is being kept under wraps for now, but let's just say you might need your passport...again! Haha! We're giving you this week to prepare for the next 10 weeks of machine gun style tests and homework assignments but next week we start again with the weekly pizza meetings and promotion in the quad! We have loads of stuff to give out again this year and there will be some type of prize up for grabs at every large event (broomball, parties, photo contest, new logo design, dinner nights, etc…) from our sponsors. Also we are getting club zip-up hoodies made this quarter so we will need everyone who wants one size. They will 20 bucks for those who want one. Sorry but your low low yearly dues will not cover this cost. The will keep ur body warm and give u more swagger than Mick Jagger!
